American thrash metal band Megadeth has released fifteen studio albums, five live albums, six compilation albums, one EP, forty-nine singles, ten video albums, and forty-four music videos. After he was fired from Metallica in 1983, guitarist and vocalist Dave Mustaine formed Megadeth along with bassist Dave Ellefson, guitarist Greg Handevidt, and drummer Dijon Carruthers. The band toured and gained a following, signing with the independent label Combat Records in late 1984.

While it was speculated that the revelation may have to do with the band’s upcoming 16th album, it turns out the announcement is actually a greatest-hits disc titled, Warheads on Foreheads, due March 22nd. No tracklist has been revealed yet, but Warheads on Foreheads will contain 35 remastered songs handpicked by frontman Dave Mustaine himself. The artwork, which can be seen above, features the band’s longtime mascot, Vic Rattlehead, riding on a bomber plane Dr. Strangelove style.

On March 22, MEGADETH will celebrate its 35th anniversary with the release of "Warheads On Foreheads", a 35-track career retrospective.

Iconic thrashers Megadeth have unveiled the huge tracklist for their upcoming Warheads On Foreheads greatest hits release. To celebrate their 35th anniversary, the 35-track Warheads On Foreheads will be coming out on March 22 via UMe Recordings, and is set to span the band’s entire career. Thirty five years ago I chose the name Megadeth for my band and I see these songs as the most efficient weapons in the bands arsenal says frontman Dave Mustaine.
